We understand that victims of abuse often repress experiences until adulthood and we are experienced in dealing with cases involving historic abuse. We also appreciate how hard it can be for survivors to approach a solicitor or reveal the full details of their case to a stranger. We, therefore, aim to make the process as simple and as painless as possible.

We operate a FREE national helpline which abuse survivors can call in complete confidence and without obligation. We also have a separate website dedicated to abuse law which contains more detailed information about this highly specialised area of law.

Elizabeth Duncan
PARTNER
Elizabeth Duncan, specialising in personal injury and abuse law, was named as a ‘Leading Lawyer’ by the 2022 edition of the independent guide to the legal profession, The Legal 500, and described as ‘outstanding’.
Elizabeth joined Slee Blackwell Solicitors in 2016 and in 2020 was made a partner.

She specialises in a number of niche areas, dealing with:
– Abuse claims against local authorities, youth organisations, sports clubs, churches, schools and employers;
– Rape and CICA criminal injury claims; and
– Stress at work claims.
​
In 2019 Elizabeth was the recipient of the prestigious Legal Hero award from DASLS. She has close links with a number of UK charities. She provides legal training to various charitable bodies and is a trustee for a charity promoting the relief of the sick and poor.

Carly Sylvester
LEGAL EXECUTIVE
Carly Sylvester is a fully qualified Chartered Legal Executive. She specialises in personal injury law and has a particular interest in beauty treatment negligence claims and abuse cases.

Carly has a first class honours degree in law. While at university she was awarded the Highest Achievement Award.

Carly works hard to achieve the best results for her clients and recognises how important it is for her to be right at their side throughout the legal process.
​
Alongside her cosmetic surgery negligence practice, Carly also represents clients who have been injured at work or in a road traffic accident. She has had a number of notable successes, including a claim against the NHS Litigation Authority for a hospital visitor who had been scalded by a member of staff.
